"Be
it known" that our own Chris Prickitt has been officially
recognized by the State of Maine Legislature for his work
with the
Abbott Hill
Ramblers, Abbott
Hill Wanderers, and Abbott
Hill Meanderers. Chris, who is
an 8th grade language arts teacher at the
Dexter Middle
School, was presented a certificate
by State representative Doug Thomas at the
8th grade graduation ceremony in May, 2006.
As
many of you may know, since 2001 Chris has been teaching
members of the
local community, from ages 10 to 70, how to play stringed
acoustic music instruments. In sharing this music with
so many people, Chris is fostering a love of acoustic music
and is cranking out a wealth
of pickers who are now starting their own
bands. We are proud of his accomplishments and hope he finds the energy and
support he needs to keep this program going. Kudos, Chris!
